The Quatuor Arthur-LeBlanc has been quartet-in-residence at the Université Laval in Quebec City since 2005. They also tour Canada and abroad, including several tours in Japan. Festival performances include Ottawa, Festival of the Sound, Domaine Forget, Orford, Ravinia and Santander (Spain).

Recently appointed to the Order of Canada, renowned Acadian soprano Suzie LeBlanc has an international singing career specializing in early baroque repertoire. Robert Kortgaard is Artistic Director of the Indian River Festival on PEI. He enjoys an active career performing and is a renowned collaborator of leading singers. The Blue Engine String Quartet was formed in 1997 as the core ensemble of the Nova Scotia chamber music series, Blue Engine Music. The Quartet are all members of Symphony Nova Scotia.

Music TORONTO enjoys a long history with the Gryphons, begun in 1995 and including 10 years as ensemble-in-residence. The Gryphons have commissioned and premiered over fifty new works, produced major projects including the multi-media Constantinople, and developed its flagship educational project Listen Up! They also tour the world, and bring it home to our stage once every season. The CBC called them “serious overachievers”.

Toronto debut Sean Chen was born in 1988 in Florida and, after Juilliard, is now studying at Yale. He won third prize at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2013, and was also awarded the Christel DeHaan Classical Fellowship of the American Pianists Association. He will be traveling across the United States for orchestral engagements, solo and chamber recitals.

Formed in 1989, the SLSQ played for Music TORONTO from 1992, before winning both the Banff Quartet Competition and the Young Concert Artists audition that year. All four members of the quartet live and teach at Stanford University in California. We look forward to their annual visit and the irresistible exuberance linked to the subtlety and finesse of their playing.
